What a clever "daddy" Rocky has got!! Guess who retrieved the photo's from the dead computer then??!!
Thank you for all the supportive emails we had, by the way. They are always gratefully received, even if I can't always work out how to reply! Duh!
Anyway, as a result of "daddy's" help, here are lots of photo's showing you what a truly super time Rocky and Rosie had when they went camping!!
As there are quite a few photo's I will keep the story line brief, so that the blog doesn't take up too much of your time .........
.......... Enjoy!
The first day we spent checking out the walking possibilities.
We went to Fleet Lagoon behind Chessil Beach ........ FROM THE JURASSIC MUD PIT TO THE JURASSIC COAST!!
Not too far from home to reduce the discomfort for Rosie, but far enough to enjoy a complete break ...........
.......... 'Cause Rocky and Rosie really need a break?????
The lagoon was beautiful, the weather was sunny but with a cool wind ..... We didn't mind!
Rocky was big and brave and even went in for a paddle ......... Only up to his ankles you understand ........... Don't want to overdo things!!
That evening, Rosie wanted to take her new bone to bed ......." Oh No you don't"!
Not too upset, and exhausted by all that sea air, it wasn't too long before they (and their otters) were fast asleep!
I said fast asleep Rocky!!! Stop peeking!
On getting up the next morning - This was our bed ............
This was Rocky and Rosie's bed!!!!!!!!
I had a cuppa and thought I'd go back to bed .......
....... No room for me! They're all asleep! Sigh!!!!
Rocky and Rosie spent the morning enjoying the space, and their bones.
Time for today's major walk ...... Rocky was proud - He had the job of carrying the water for himself and Rosie ..........
What a grown up Otterhound!!
Fun at the lagoon!
Big discoveries ........ Boats don't bite!! Yes, ....... It took us a while to persuade them of that one!!!!
Time for a nap and relax!
Windswept and Beautiful!!!!
Enjoying the sun and the sea.
If only Otterhounds drank "Bud's" it would be the perfect scene!!
What's round the next bend?
"I'll just cool my feet in the water .... I can now 'cause I'm all grown up"!
And Rosie came too!
"Oooh"! Lot's of grass and lot's of smells for those all important scenting bones!!
Heading inland.
Looking back at the lagoon and the beautiful birds!
The view from the top of the hill was well worth the climb.
Then it was into the woods for some extra special smells!
Seeking out woodland creatures!
Oh well, maybe next time!!
A reward for our fearless explorers!
And what does Rosie think of her first ice lollie??
"Can't speak ........ Too yummy"!!!!
That evening back at the tent .......
Who's that with his sleepy head peeking out from our bedroom???
Mornings were for bones and relaxation ........
For some reason our hounds chose the bones??
The next walk went through "the grasshopper field" as usual.
Why "the grass hopper field"? Well here our fearless duo hunt the huge amount of grasshoppers that inhabit this field .....
Tell you more later ........
The drizzle didn't dampen our spirits as it was still warm and there was lots left to explore.
Heading the other way, we went past our lagoon spot and along the cliffs.
Into interesting groves ......
Along wooden walkways ...... Which Rosie didn't like .........
........... So she made sure she was the first one out!!
Soon we were back on the cliffs, the drizzle had stopped and life was fine!
We all stopped for a break!
The youngsters got time to explore all the yummy smells!!
And play at being great explorers!!
Back along the cliffs .......
....... And home in time for tea!!
Aaah! "The grasshopper field" ..... One of the biggest hits of the trip for our two hounds .....
Ever seen two (one rather large) Otterhounds undertake enormous pounces???
Well it ALWAYS went like this ......
Hunt the grass hoppers ....... See one and POUNCE!! .....
......... MISS (as usual) ....... Then proceed to STAMP with your front feet (in a crazy way) through the undergrowth in the hope of getting the hoppy thing!!
Very funny to see ...... and Rocky and Rosie would spend ages doing this ...... Who needs a telly???
At the top of "the grass hopper field" is the stile - Here they enjoyed seeing badger and pheasant and grouse and deer - There was also the smell of fox and bunny ...... Hound heaven!
Over the stile and it was down to the lagoon.
Today was a walk to the pub for a lovely lunch and a beer before going home!
Our two hero's behaved impeccably in the pub!!
And when we got home Mij was pleased to see us .......... Well, our cases anyway!?
And what of our two Otterhounds ......
Well in the blink of an eye they were Errrr ......
...... Hmmmm
........ Fast asleep!!
Unpacking to do? ....... Well, let's take a break!!
That night ........ It was night night Rosie .......
........ And night night Rocky, dream of fun and smells on your first ever camping trip!!!
DISCLAIMER:- No Otterhounds were harmed during this holiday, in keeping with Rosie's tender age we didn't walk that far ....... and had several restful breaks!!! But we still all had fun and lots of fresh sea air ....... Lubbly Jubbly!!!!
