Rocky and Rosie are loving the late summer.It is warm during the day but with a cooling breeze ........ Just how they like it!
But more comfortable temperatures for an Otterhound sometimes means ........ being "naughty children"!
Once let off the lead in one of their favourite fields, it's a case of ....... "Quick run, we'll get there first"!!
You see, somehow they knew exactly where we were going to go on this walk!
"Spooky"!!
So ....... We caught up with them both in the woods ........
Well, we caught up with Rosie anyway!
"Where's Rocky"?
"Quick, there he goes ......... Follow him"!
"Where is he going"?
"And what is he doing"?
Completely unaware that we were there ........ Our Rocky has sniffed out a bunny warren!
"Ooops"! "Lost his head"!
"No, you can't fit in there silly"!
"Oh dear, I've been caught in the act ......... But it smells so Yummy, mummy"!
Well, we managed to get Rocky moving on and then had to catch up with Rosie!
Following her nose!
Down through the woods we roamed ...........
....... And on into another of their favourite fields .....
........ Where they shot off again in search of fun and scent bone tickling!!
Some kind person had placed a freshly deceased bunny on the fence ......... Faced with this interesting smell our two Otterhound hero's ........
Wandered about totally confused?!
Now there's something we didn't expect!!!
Having more interest in the tracking than the finding ....... Our two hero's proceeded to search for scents to track until they started to feel in need of a rest!
"I am a hound dog ....... So I need my rest, don't you know"!?
Rosie, not quite such a couch potatoe, carried on scenting for a while.
"I'd better keep one eye on her, just incase she finds anything interesting"!
Feeling in a particularly happy mood, our Rocky wanders over for a quick hug and loving session .....
....... Don't tell anyone, he likes to keep his "softy" side a secret!!!!!
What a lovely day to just sit, or lay down in a field and watch the world go by!
Little Rosie comes over to say hello ......
"Hello Rocky" .........
....... "I love you" ...........
Well, whether it was Rosie's kisses or an Otterhound attack of "The Happies" I'm not sure, but ........
........ Rocky proceeded to indulged in a spot of "grooming by grass blade"!
Rub, Rub ...... Grin, Grin!
Roll, Roll, Laugh, Laugh!
Roll and Rub, Roll and Rub!
"He he! That feels great"!
Then he did it all again .........
What a happy Otterhound!
Rocky's had a great time ........ Just don't tell him his grass rub has left him looking like Dusty Springfield!!!
"Come on Rocky, time to go home now" ........
"NO, don't want to"!
We eventually got him home; ......... Many references to tea time and comfy sofa's!!!
Anyway, night night Rocky ..... Our happy Otterhound ........
Sleep well and enjoy the smell of fresh grass on your coat!
